I am so delighted to be back with you after a very long hiatus, during which time I cared for both my parents through the end of their lives. Yes. There are lots of wonderful and sad stories I have to tell. But that is for another time. Now there is a more urgent need.
In these times of Coronavirus, each one of us is called to step up and do our part to care about each other.
Living in the New York City metro area, where the infection and death rates are very high and hundreds of people are dying alone every day, I knew it was time for me to get back to my End of Life Doula work.
While I am not able to perform this work as I usually do - the volunteer doulas are not considered essential personnel - I am able to work in the quiet of my meditation corner. This work takes place on an energetic and spiritual level, I do not need to be sitting bedside. Each day now my spirit sits at many bedsides. Working with me is my friend, Music Thanatologist and harpist, Catharine DeLong.
Please forward to this information to anyone who is in need at this time.
A shamanic friend and colleague, Karen Furr, has invited me to participate on her Zoom show, “Conversations with Karen,” in which she talks with a wide variety of shamanic practitioners. When she learned of the work that I am doing for Covid 19 patients who are dying alone, she invited me to be on her show. Due to the urgency of the times and the need for my work, Karen created a special time slot for me on Monday, April 27, 2020.
