•Shamanic Healing
Shamanism is an ancient spiritual practice that has existed in many different cultures for many thousands of years. The term also describes healers who meditate outside of time and space to treat illness. From a classical Shamanic perspective I see four major causes of illness: power loss, intrusion, soul loss, and possession. Power loss refers to the loss of a helping spirit that joins us at birth and helps us throughout our lives. Intrusion is the appearance of energy in the body that does not belong there. Soul loss may occur during a traumatic event, such as an accident, surgery, or death of a loved one. Possession is an unwelcome spirit in our energy field. However there are illnesses in the contemporary world that classical Shamanism could never have contemplated, such as the toxic effects of pollution or environmental illnesses. In these cases I use spiritual light as a healing tool. I begin each session with rituals to set a sacred healing space: lighting a candle, burning incense and drumming. The sound of the drumming takes me into a state of altered consciousness in which I connect to my helping spirits and ask them for information or healing that is important for my patient. After the journey I explain what I have seen and learned. •Biodynamic Cranial Sacral Therapy
At a deep level of our physiology, healthy tissue subtly "breathes" with the motion of life and produces a rhythmic pulse. This is carried through the fluids of the body, particularly the cerebrospinal fluid. When this rhythm is expressed in fullness and balance, there is a state of health and well-being. However, illness, trauma or stress that becomes trapped within the body causes a disruption in the fluid rhythm. By placing my hands very gently on the body or at a distance, I listen to the body as it describes the subtle rhythm in the fluid and tissues. I hold the rhythm to help balance or resolve the forces trapped in the mind, body, or spirit. Then I facilitate the expression of spiritual light, which enhances the body's self-healing capabilities in restoring natural balance. •Light Touch Massage
Gentle touch is soothing, reassuring and healing. Often I use essential oils with light touch to create physical comfort and peace. |
•Esoteric Healing
An energy field surrounds and permeates all living beings. It is the scaffolding for the structure of our physical body. Within the human energy field are seven major centers, called chakras. Each of these energizes or vitalizes a related nerve center, endocrine gland, and internal organ system. If a center becomes unbalanced or restricted, the associated nerves, glands, or organs will be detrimentally affected. This can result in disease on the physical, emotional, or mental levels. I can feel the specific areas and/or organs where energy is weak or congested. Then, using precise balancing techniques, I bring the energy field of the mind, body or spirit back to its natural flow. I work at variable distances from the body. •Drumming
Drumming has been practiced in diverse cultures around the planet for thousands of years. It is considered to be one of the oldest methods of healing. The repetitive rhythm is played at a tempo of three to four beats per second. Although quite simple and redundant, the unique connection between the drum and the drummer gives the sound great power, richness, and depth. I use the rhythm of shamanic drumming to promote physical healing, boost the immune system, lower blood pressure, release energetic blockages and promote the sense of well-being. •Guided Visualizations Imagination is the ability to create an image in the mind. In a guided visualization I create the framework to discover and explore a healing image. I use guided visualizations to release energy, relieve pain, bring comfort and peace. •Essential oils/Aromatherapy Aromatic plants have been been used throughout history. Essential oils are highly concentrated aromatic extracts that are distilled or expressed from a variety of aromatic plant material, including flowers, fruits, grasses, leaves, needles or twigs, resins, roots, seeds and woods. Aromatherapy is the holistic therapeutic application of genuine essential oils for enhancing the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health of a person. I use essential oils to address the whole person, promote relaxation, alleviate pain, stimulate and support the body's own natural healing abilities and to speak to the underlying causes of an illness. |
