May Thoughts focused on finding balance outside of the comfort zone. In order to support your pursuit of finding balance on the edge and speed, meditate or journey to your Helping Spirits and ask them what you need to know at this time about the saying from the Sugi Master, "To be still and still moving. . . that is everything." After you do this journey, notice how you move through your life. Are you more fluid? More trusting of balance? Are you having ice skating dreams? Add Comment April Thoughts 04/01/2012
Opening to the Possibilities If you are stuck in one place, have you ever wondered how to shift? How to change? How to transition? How the mechanism for change works? The first step to moving through inertia is wanting to be in a different place. The second step is finding the help you need along your journey. When you come to me, I begin a healing session by playing my drum and Journeying. After welcoming in the helping Spirits, I ask the question, "what do you need to know, at this time, and what do I need to do to support you." I address the causes behind a problem. The Spirits give me information that focuses my healing work. First, I open and make room in your energetic system to allow this information in. By highlighting the intention for positive change and giving it permission, your system is able to shift. When a system is open to the possibility of change, the energy can move down into the physical body which then incorporates the healing information. It is a process of opening up your system. There must be space for the possibility of healing to move into! Think about how often you are resistant (read: closed) to the thought (read: possibility) of doing something new. How would it feel to give yourself permission to do that new thing? How would it feel or what would it look like to be open to the possibility of being different? or doing differently? or being healthy? or being joyful? "If you have someone who has many things going wrong and one thing going right, beat the drum of what's going right, and let that be your point of attraction. If you focus upon their problems, you achieve vibrational harmony with something other than the Source that gives you solution." --Abraham You bring energy to what you think about. Focus on the positive of what you want to accomplish. Allow yourself to be open to the possibility of something that you thought was impossible. You might be surprised with what happens! What are your thoughts on opening to the possibilities? Please post on my blog page. My March Thoughts 03/01/2012
From Disconnect to Connect Recently I read an article about how out of control the violence is in Honduras, Central America. It has the highest murder rate in the world. My heart breaks! Here is a bit of back story: I lived in the capitol city of Tegucigalpa for many years. It was like being in paradise -- warm hearted people and sunny, warm weather year round. I lived out my childhood dreams of being a dancer, choreographer, producer and university professor. This was a place of so much magic that it filled my heart and soul. Many years after I'd left Tegucigalpa I learned that the foundation of my Shamanic world is in the ancient realm of the Mayans who lived in Copan, Honduras (among other places). After being so upset by the news that my magical place was becoming so violent, I did what I do to often do to regain a balanced perspective. I journeyed. This particular time I went to the Spirits of the land in Honduras. They told me that the Honduran people are disconnected from the land; that the land is their source. They are in a state of separateness. When I thought about this on a wider perspective, I realized that the sleep state of the collective that we are experiencing now is a form of disconnection from source. I see it in the lack of compassion for others, the need to acquire large quantities of stuff, the sense of entitlement, or the lack of taking responsibility for one's actions or words. Like the Honduran people we are disconnected from our land or source. We are so dependent on technological devices that our communication with other people has become remote. We do not take time to walk in nature, to smell the roses, to be grateful for a beautiful sunset or a cup of coffee with a friend. If this sounds familiar, it is time to find ways to plug back into the world around you. Here are some things that you can do to connect: • as you walk down the street, feel your feet on the earth (there is ground under that concrete) • notice the clouds over head • feel the sun, wind or rain (if you are in a part of the world that is actually having winter add snow to this list) on your face • notice the budding plants or trees • walk on the beach and feel not only the sand but the rhythm of the waves • feel the warmth of the sunshine, the energy of the moon • notice how the seasons affect your energy flow • take the dog for a long walk in the woods • share a meal with a friend • talk to your plants as you water them • share laughter with a friend • smile at a stranger on the street • sit against a tree Embrace being part of this wondrous world! "Energy follows thought," is a metaphysical concept, which translates to -- our thoughts and words are powerful creators of intentions, which are conduits for energy that has a vibration. Take this idea the next step and you are the vibration of your thoughts. Going even further, according to the Law of Attraction, or "like attracts like," you become what you think. Following the logic of this flow of energy, you are your own strongest ally. You are able to make changes in your world by changing what you think, feel, focus upon, say, and do. Or as Ghandi said, " You are the change you want to see in the world." My question to you is -- What do you want in your life? Or in the world? What do you want to be? What do you want to feel? If you focus on the successful outcome of your dreams or goals you will vibrate and resonate with them. You will bring them into your life. For me, it is about being the joy that is in the world. When I found the following quote from ascended master Abraham, I thought a lot about the process of what each one of us is bringing into the world. "You are joy, looking for a way to express. It's not just that your purpose is joy, it is that you are joy. You are love and joy and freedom and clarity expressing. Energy—frolicking and eager—that's who you are. And so, if you're always reaching for alignment with that, you're always on your path, and your path will take you into all kinds of places. We will not deny that you will not discover miracles and create benefits and be involved in creation, and that you will not uplift humanity—we will not say that you will not find satisfaction in so many things that you create, but we can't get away from the acknowledgment that you are Pure Positive Energy that translates into the human emotion of joy.? --- Abraham My January Thoughts 12/30/2011
January 2012 Happy New Year!!! Have you created a list of resolutions for the New Year? Now is an excellent time to think about where you've been in order to better see where you want to go. Traditionally we think of doing a life review at the end of our life. We look back and remember the times, places or people who made us happy or unhappy. We contemplate what we learned from our experiences. We (re)tell the story of our life. It is a process for understanding where we have been on our life's journey and a preparation for what comes next. However, going through a period of change, any kind of change, can be aided by this contemplative practice. By doing this, to some degree, we bear witness to the change that is taking place. We are also honoring that which we have left behind and we are clearing the road ahead. Once you have done this, what do you see when you look down the road ahead? Does it fill you with joy? If so, embrace it. If not, how do you want to make it different? Use your imagination to paint the picture of what you would like your world to look like. Use bright, clear, bold colors (intentions) to create the images of your world. The road in front of me is woven with music and song, joy and grace, wisdom and compassion. What about yours? My December Thoughts I have been thinking about how to talk about change as a process of letting go. Change implies going from one state to another; going from what we know to the unknown; from the familiar to the uncomfortable. This is the image that came to me: How can I step on to a cloud, where do I find the courage, who will hold my hand, what comes next? When I step on to a cloud, where do I go, who am I, what do I become? In the mist of the cloud, where is the peace, who will remember me, what will I see? My November Thoughts 10/26/2011
I have been writing this column for three years. (Time flies when you are having fun.) At long last I am publishing it as a blog. Woo Hoo!! This is a time of harvest, a time to remember those who have gone before (November 2 is the Day of the Dead), and a time for gratitude (November 24 is Thanksgiving). I am grateful! I am grateful for you, who read my words. I am grateful for people and their stories. I am grateful for my walks in the woods. I am grateful for the hearts that I hold dear. I am grateful for the hearts that hold me dear. I am grateful for the gifts that I share. I am grateful for the dolphins who swim by. I am grateful for the songs I sing! *************************************** |
