In honor of the on-going work we have been doing with water, including the Mississippi, I would like to focus on water from a different angle: the rights to use it. This is becoming a contentious issue in many places, but the water of the Flathead Indian Reservation (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/22/us/bitter-battle-over-water-rights-on-montana-reservation.html?src=rechp) in western Montana has triggered a deep conflict between the tribes and homesteaders of the area. Rights to a dependable supply are being contested by both sides. At issue are healthy harvests, preservation the elk herds and the cutthroat trout population, all of which depend on the river for survival.
On May 9 at 8:30 pm your local time, journey or meditate to your helping spirits and transfigure, then join the entire group as we gather at the Flathead Lake 7 miles (11 km) south of Kalispell, Montana. Greet the spirits of the water and land, see them in a state of perfect plenty; there is enough water to sustain all life in the area.
Walking the Water: the Mississippi River
On March 27, a group of American Indian women began walking from the headwaters of the Mississippi River in Minnesota. Their destination -- the Gulf of Mexico. They are walking the entire1,200 mile length of the Mississippi River to raise awareness of water pollution and protection of resources.
According to Sharon Day, member of the Ojibwe tribe, Executive Director of the Indigenous Peoples Task Force, and leader of the Mississippi River Water Walk, the Mississippi River is the second most polluted river in the United States with toxic chemicals from municipalities, agriculture and industry all accumulating as the water flows to the gulf, taking their toll on the health of the river. Says Day, by the time a drop of water reaches the ‘dead zones’ near the mouth, the water is nearly depleted of oxygen. In some times of the year, the dead zones are the size of the state of Delaware. The walk intends to raise awareness of what each individual can do along the way to help change the health of the water in the Mississippi as well as other water resources in the local community.
“We want the walk to be a prayer,” says Day who, explains that they are in ceremony while they carry the water. “Every step we take we will be praying for and thinking of the water. The water has given us life and now, we will support the water.”
The group is planning to arrive in Venice, LA, the end of their walk, on April 27. They will celebrate their completion with a water ceremony.

Several Years ago the New Moon Journey group spent an entire year working with and supporting the spirits of the Mississippi River on every new moon. To honor the river and the work that we have done, I would like the current New Moon Journey group to support the women who have walked and to celebrate the spirits of the Mississippi River.
On April 27th journey, at 8:30 pm your local time, to your helping spirits and transfigure. In your divine light go to Venice,LA to join the water ceremony of Walking the Water.
Mystery Malady Kills More Bees, Heightening Worry on Farms New York Times, March 29, 2013
A mysterious malady that has been killing honeybees en masse for several years appears to have expanded drastically in the last year, commercial beekeepers say, wiping out 40 percent or even 50 percent of the hives needed to pollinate many of the nation’s fruits and vegetables. A conclusive explanation so far has escaped scientists studying the ailment, colony collapse disorder, since it first surfaced around 2005. But beekeepers and some researchers say there is growing evidence that a powerful new new class of pesticides known as neonicotinoids, incorporated into the plants themselves, could be an important factor. The Agriculture Department says a quarter of the American diet, from apples to cherries to watermelons to onions, depends on pollination by honeybees. *******************
This month for the new moon I would like to follow-up on a journey we did to the spirit of the queen bee in September 2012. It is evident that bee colonies continue to collapse. On April 10 at 8:30 pm, I would like you to meditate or journey to your helping spirits, transfigure (or become) your divine light. In this form join the new moon journey group and go to the spirit of the queen bee and see her and the hive in their divine perfection. As you go through this season watch for bees in your area. Thank them for all they do for us!
New Moon March 11 from the New York Times, February 14, 2012: Traces of a common psychiatric medication that winds up in rivers and streams may affect fish behavior and feeding patterns, according to a study recently published in the journal Science. Researchers in Sweden exposed wild European perch to water with different concentrations of Oxazepam, an anti-anxiety medication that can show up in waterways after being flushed, excreted or discarded. The fish became less social, more active and ate faster, behaviors they said could have long-term consequences for aquatic ecosystems. The study joins a small but growing body of research exploring the possible environmental impact of chemicals in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and other products. Many of these chemicals are not removed by wastewater treatment plants, which are intended to remove bacteria and nutrients, experts said. The United States Geological Survey has found “intersex fish,” or male fish that develop female sexual characteristics, in the Potomac River and its tributaries, raising questions about whether hormone residues might be responsible. A study in the journal Environmental Science and Technology found antidepressants like Prozac and Zoloft in the brains of fish collected downstream from wastewater discharge in Colorado and Iowa. ~~~~ This month I would like to focus our healing attention on water, once again. It seems that bodies of water all over the world are being contaminated by pharmaceuticals, so let us work together with the spirit of water while holding the intention that all water is connected and will be affected by this healing. On March 11 at 8:30 pm your local time, journey and transfigure. Ask your helping spirits to take you to the spirit of water. Notice all the others who have gathered and are doing this journey with you. See the spirit of water in divine perfection and see the water flowing through the bodies of water near your home or under the ground by your home.
New Moon February 10 Information on and research into climate change has been on-going since the 1960's. Yet it is a topic that, until recently, has not been taken seriously by most of our political leaders. The causes of climate change are varied; some are man-made while others are by-products of evolution. Last month in my new moon journey to the Arctic, I was told that the diminishing polar ice cap is part of natural evolution and that there are certain things that we can not and should not change. I would like to follow-up on this idea this month. On February 10, the new moon, at 8:30 pm, your local time, let us journey together to the spirit of the new moon to ask about changes in nature. Begin by journeying (or meditating) to your helping spirits, transfigure into your divine light and go to the spirit of the new moon. Find out what it has to teach you about how to live on the earth while honoring and protecting the balance and the evolution of nature. How do we live in a changing world?
New Moon Journey Healing for the Earth An excerpt from the New Yorker Article, Polar Express by Keith Gessen: In recent years, it ( the ice cap) has been shrinking by much more than half. In September of 2007, the ice shrank to 4.3 million square kilometers, the lowest extent in recorded history. In subsequent years, it reached its second-, third-, and fourth-lowest-ever extents. The thickness of the ice--more difficult to measure but also more telling--is also decreasing, from an average thickness of twelve feet in 1980 to half that two decades later. The primary cause of this decline is warmer air temperature in the Arctic, an area that has been more affected by global warming than any other place on earth. The estimates vary, but scientists agree that at some point this century the minimum extent, at the end of summer season, will reach zero. At this point, you'll be able to cross the North Pole in a canoe. (graphic by Viva)
On January 11, the evening of the new moon, at 8:30 pm your local time, let us journey as a group to the spirit of the North Pole. Begin by journeying (or meditating) to your helping spirits, transfigure into your divine light and go to the North Pole to meet the spirit of that place. See the spirit in its divine state, ask how you might honor it. What does it have to teach you about change and adapting to change? As you go through your own periods of change, be fully present with it and remember the spirit of the north pole.
For the full moon on December 28, meditate or journey to ask your helping spirits to show you any shadow states of consciousness in your life, such as betrayal, disappointment, fear of loss, etc. You can look at who has betrayed or disappointed you. Maybe there are people you need to forgive. There might also be life circumstances where you felt betrayed or disappointed by a community or life itself. There might be energies that you left in places that need to be cleaned up and transmuted. Allow your own inner spirit to reveal to you the areas that you need to examine, acknowledge, and release. This is a time to be cleansed. As you do this, imagine a giant cauldron of divine light. Release all that needs to be healed into the divine light of the cauldron, which will transmute their energy into love. This cauldron is being used by our entire global community. As different issues and situations reveal themselves for healing, release them into this cauldron. Do this with honor. Say goodbye to what you are ready to release. Work with the intention of releasing energy to be transformed into love and light and to create a shift in consciousness that ripples throughout the entire web of life. The shadow states of the collective in politics, religion, and business are all becoming more transparent. Our own personal shadow is also becoming more transparent. Let’s begin to heal our inner shadow. As within so without. The changes we make will be reflected back to us. Let us do this work as we weave a vibrant web of light within and throughout the earth on the full moon on December 28.
(Instructions for Creating a Human Web of Light) adapted from Sandra Ingerman's December Transmutation News
On December 22 we honor the Solstice, winter in the northern hemisphere and summer in the southern. Let us journey to cleanse ourselves to welcome in the solstice and the New Year; let us share blessings that will embrace and honor all life on this earth, including Mother earth. Let us give thanks to the elements, fire, water, air and earth, for our life, as they fill our lives. Let us be a vessel of love and light that holds the earth and all of life. Let us hold the love and light for all the people in the world at this time. Blessings of health be yours. Blessings of love be yours. Blessings of light be yours. Blessings of abundance be yours. Blessings of peace be yours. --Celtic Blessing
The Conversation Project It’s not easy to talk about how you want the end of your life to be. But it’s one of the most important conversations you can have with your loved ones.
The Conversation Project will help you get your thoughts together and then have the conversation.
This isn’t about filling out Advance Directives or other medical forms. It’s about talking to your loved ones about what you or they want for end-of-life care.
Whether you’re getting ready to tell someone what you want, or you want to help someone else get ready to talk, this will be a useful guide.
from Shamanic practitioner and teacher Girvani Leerer:
A message f rom Don Mariano Quispe, elder paqo (medicine man) of the Q'ero on the importance 12~12~12:
According to the prophecies of the paqos (which source from the Inka lineage), the forthcoming date of 12~12~12 is a 'portal' day - a day that provides a doorway through which we can experience and cultivate increased access to ourselves within all layers of our beings, and most potently, with access to our inner stars.
Don Mariano Quispe, of the Q'ero Lineage, shares that our inner stars are connected to our souls and link us with the kawsay pacha (world of living energy) and with the cosmos, in its infinite seen and unseen manifestations.
Each of our inner stars holds information about where we came from and where we are going. It carries information about our biological lineages and about our spiritual lineages. It is like a guiding star - or a guiding light: illuminating the pathways of our souls from the past (as informed by our biological lineages and by our past lifetimes) through the present and into the future. By shining light through our biological and our spiritual lineages, our inner stars can help us to stay focused on our souls' plans and on our divine contracts.
Our inner stars can illuminate areas from our past (including past generations and past lives) that are infused with hucha (heavy energy), like emotional hurts from our childhood or physical trauma, etc.
Our inner star can reveal these areas of hucha to us, and support us to align with cleansing and illuminating our past so that our present and future can be clean and clear and radiant.
Don Mariano encourages us to work with our 'planets' - with our energy bodies - on 12/12/12, and to make contact with our inner stars. He invites us to receive and retrieve information from our inner stars with the intention of aligning more fully and expansively with our souls and with the offerings that our souls wish to make in the world during our lifetime.
We can even use our inner stars like light beams, shining them on our pasts and on our futures, to see clearly the gifts and the treasures and gems; and using them to step out from the shadows (including our own shadows) and into the full brilliance of the truth of our souls.
The paqos have been encouraging us to delve deep and to do our cleansing and clearing work for the past several years in anticipation and preparation for these very times and dates - 12/12/12 and 12/21/12 - that are upon us.
And they know that we have been doing our work - to clear our energy bodies so that they vibrate with increased spaciousness. They commend us for our work. They are now encouraging us to grow and expand the light of our inner stars, filling the planets of our energy bodies with this light.
It is time.
It is time to be the light - the luminosity - that we have been looking for.
We are ready, and it is time.
